DCB in the Denton Record-Chronicle Again!

We were also listed in the November 29 edition of Denton Time
under "in kind" contributions to the Denton Lighting ceremony.
Plus, Carol Lynn was interviewed by Linnie McAdams who hosts the Denton
Perspectives program on Charter Cable Channel 25. The interview will
run — along with some of the DCB music from the Denton Lighting
ceremony — during December (7am, Noon, 5pm, 10pm; Sunday does
not have a 5pm time).

DCB Benefit Concert Announced
Mark your calendars for March 8, 2008 because the DCB will be performing
a benefit concert to help fund the commissioning of a piece by Sam Hazo
(see related article below). The time is still TBA as are the pieces
that will be performed. However, it is known at this time that both
the Denton Community Band and the Denton Community Jazz Band will be
performing at this event. Keep checking for updates on this special
event!

Sam Hazo Piece
The process has begun to have esteemed composer Samuel
R. Hazo write a piece commissioned by the DCB. He has been contacted
and will be sending us a contract shortly so he can set aside time to
compose a piece for us. We will begin fundraising soon to raise the
necessary funds for this piece; the more money we raise, the longer
the piece can be. To make a donation to the DCB, please contact us to
find out how.
Santa Serenades
It's the most wonderful time of the year... for Santa Serenades, that
is. For a donation as little as $25, you can have the Band play Christmas
Carols on your front lawn. Just email cmizell@dentonisd.org
to find out how you can have the DCB make your Christmas party even
more memorable.
